Prior to founding her own firm, Maya practiced law at large law firms in New York, Chicago and Denver. A graduate from New York University School of Law and Columbia University, she provides detail-oriented and outcome-focused assistance. She has received admission to the New York, Massachusetts, Illinois and Michigan bars. Her experience encompasses a range of immigration cases including employment-based temporary and permanent immigration, family-based immigration, consular processing, VAWA, citizenship and working with congressional offices to assist with pending cases. Her involvement with immigration law began during her time at NYU Law where she served as an Advocate in the Immigrant Rights Clinic. It continued during her tenure at law firms where she consistently worked on pro bono matters including asylum, cancellation of removal and, most notably, representation of Guantanamo detainees.
